I've got a "high" ping time. How can I lower it? |
|
Ping problems are the bane of all online gamers' lives.
They can be very difficult to track down as well. First and foremost
is to make sure that you have a good quality modem. It is also worth checking to see what speed you are connecting at.
Above 33.6 connections can, in fact, cause ping problems. For example
if you get a connection of 44kb/sec, this is only true for one direction of the connection (downloading).
The upload connection will still be at a maximum of 33.6kb/sec. This can truly confuse
online games. We suggest that if you connect to our 56k access line, and you have "high" ping times, that you connect to our
33.6 access number. You can get a listing of our access numbers by clicking here. |
